Executive Chef

The Lakes Golf Club is looking to recruit a high quality Executive Chef to manage the day to day operations of the Club’s catering department.

About The Lakes Golf Club

The Lakes is one of Australia’s premier private golf clubs and the host of the 2018 Emirates Australian Open Championship. Our team of 60 staff are highly professional, positive, service orientated and talented. Our Members love great food including a wide variety of exceptional cuisine using the finest produce.

The Role

We are seeking a suitably experienced person to take responsibility for the daily management of the small catering team including food preparation, menu design, staff development, rostering, event planning, stock control, ordering, financial performance, budgeting, hygiene and health and safety.

The focus of our business is our Members. We also known for delivering high quality weddings, christenings, corporate events and other functions. This role requires flexible work hours and weekend work. A great work life balance is on offer with the catering department typically closed at 4pm most days.

The Executive Chef will work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to deliver cuisine and service exceeding that found in a five star hotel.

Expectations

The successful applicant will preferably possess:

  • Over 10 years’ experience as a qualified chef, including extensive time as a Sous or Executive Chef in a high quality Club, restaurant or 5 star hotel.
  • A progressive management style that creates a positive, inclusive culture resulting in high performance.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Financial acumen.
  • A commitment to ongoing incremental improvement.
  • A passion for enhancing a client’s day through amazing cuisine using the finest produce.
