SEEKING: Handyman/Maintenance Assistant – The Lakes Golf Club

The Lakes Golf Club provides its staff with world class facilities and a fun, positive and highly motivated work environment.

We are regarded as one of Australia’s leading private golf clubs with an international reputation for providing our members and their guests with outstanding service and facilities. Later this year we will host the 2018 Australian Open. The Club is located in King Street Mascot and is approximately 20 minutes from the CBD.

The Role

This is a casual role approximately 2 to 3 days per week. The position requires a strong understanding of both internal and external building work, including a variety of general commercial building maintenance activities and may suit a retired tradesperson.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Hands-on duties such as general carpentry, lighting, basic plumbing, door hardware, cupboards, ceilings, plastering and any other odd jobs;
  • External building works may include gardening, painting and general repairs or replacement
  • Organising specialist sub-contractors, checking and approving their finished works;
  • Checking all areas for appearance, function, safety and clear access;
  • Determining job priorities and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.

The successful applicant will possess:

A positive attitude, initiative, good communication skills, be flexible and well-organised to complement your skill set. Previous experience in a similar handyman or facilities maintenance based role is not required but would be beneficial.
