SEEKING: Retail Manager – Bonville Golf Resort

Bonville Golf Resort, located just 10 minutes south of Coffs Harbour on the Mid North Coast of NSW is an award winning property consisting of a championship golf course, 30 accommodation suites, clubhouse facilities housing our award winning Flooded Gums Restaurant and onsite Conference, Banquet and Function facilities.

Acknowledged as one of the world’s most beautiful golf courses and consistently voted as the most beautiful in Australia & a 3 time winner of Australia’s Leading Golf Resort by the World Travel Awards (2006, 2011 and 2012) is the perfect golfing destination set amid 600 acres of native Australian forest with a large driving range, practice fairway, putting green, short game area and fully equipped Pro Shop.

Bonville Golf Resort requires a fulltime Retail Manager for our Pro Shop / Retail Store.

Reporting to the General Manager and liaising with the Golf Operations Manager, the Retail Manager will be responsible for the purchasing, merchandising, and sales of our comprehensive selection of golf stock including apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories.

The Retail Manager will also assist in the general day to day Pro Shop duties that will include but are not limited to meeting and greeting customers, collection of green fees, taking bookings, answering phones etc.

They will also be responsible for training and educating Pro Shop personnel with the ultimate goal of delivering a seamless shopping experience for our members and guests in a friendly, professional and inviting environment.

The Retail Manager is also responsible for driving company objectives in profit and loss control, sales performance and customer satisfaction to maximise profitability.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a buying plan
  • Present a diverse and desirable array of apparel, and accessories
  • Ensures accurate accounting of and adherence to staff purchasing policies
  • Assist with the pricing structure for all inventory
  • Responsible for accurate and timely inventory counts
  • Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with our customers
  • Maintains an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the Pro shop
  • Regularly change and update displays and rearrange the Pro shop
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, education and motivation of Pro Shop staff
  • Develops and maintains a professional and collaborative partnerships with suppliers
  • Analyse sales to determine necessary sales promotions
  • Manages all orders for special events and tournaments
  • Ensure stockroom is kept organised so that items are easy to locate
  • Meeting a greeting guests
  • Collection of Green Fees
  • Answering Phone Calls
  • Taking Golf Bookings

To be the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years retail management experience
  • A passion for golf (must be a keen golfer) with excellent golf knowledge
    Supervisory experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and harness relationships with suppliers
  • Exceptional personal presentation
  • Results driven with a demonstrated track record of driving sales success
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative to improve current processes
  • Flexibility – Pro Shop is open 7 days per week and rostering for this role will be across the week including weekend and public holiday work
