Nudgee Golf Club, Home of the QLD PGA Championship, is located on the north side of Brisbane, 16 kilometres from the CBD and close to Brisbane Airport. Nudgee Golf Club is currently in the final stage of a 3-year, 36 hole re-development with 27 new holes in play of the final 36 hole layout. Featuring a James Wilcher design the club will have 2 brand new courses, The Kurrai and The Bulka in play by October 2022.
The club is bordered by Nudgee Beach, Kedron Brook and the Moreton Bay foreshores. The club was formed in 1930, has a full service modern clubhouse, 300m driving range, practice putting greens and over 1700 members who enjoy equality membership up to 7 days a week.
NGC is the Home of the QLD PGA Championship hosting for the first time a successful event in January 2022, played on the newly designed, The Kurrai Course, with the Director of Golf a key driver of the event.
POSITION OBJECTIVE |
We are seeking an enthusiastic PGA Member to lead and manage the Golf Operations to consistently exceed the expectations of our Members and Guests. The right applicant will have a strong work ethic, be committed to ongoing improvement and possess impressive communication skills. The Director of Golf will be responsible to manage the entire day to day operations of the Golf Shop.
The Pro-Shop Team currently comprises of 7 staff including a PGA Associate and 2 other PGA Professionals as well as a Teaching Professional. The Director of Golf will assume responsibility for management of such team with ample support from the General Manager and other individuals on the senior management team.
The club is an exciting phase of growth with the new courses online and as the Club continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a suitably experienced and passionate Director of Golf to build a team and deliver exceptional service in golf operations. This role will report to the General Manager and form part of the senior management team.

Prepare and regularly review the business plan for golf operations |

Develop and oversee all member and social golfing calendars, competitions and daily conditions of play |

Produce regular reports on financial performance, stock control, utilisation of facilities, sales and marketing activity, and human resources. |

Meet the financial expectations of the Golf Shop by staffing, merchandising, purchasing (signing of Purchase Orders) and servicing the members & guests |
|
Oversee the selling and coordination of all corporate golf by regularly liaising with the Corporate Golf Coordinator |
|
Meet with golf course superintendent regularly documenting meeting notes and action items |
|
Ensure that all golf services staff (including complete their daily responsibilities and requirements without incident or delay |
|
Have daily timesheets built and displayed within the allocated timeframe via the MiClub software system |
|
Develop and implement coaching programs for Juniors, Ladies & Men. Ensure the coaching team is up to date with available coaching technology and training |
|
Attend all Heads of Department/GM meetings when scheduled tabling and actioning all things Golf Services if required |
|
Work with the clubs WH&S committee to develop and update all WH&S compliance for the Golf Services department |

NGC is now accepting applications for the position of Director of Golf. The successful applicant will actively guide the Golf Operations Team in providing exceptional levels of service to establish the NGC golf experience as a benchmark for the golfing community.
The successful candidate should be PGA qualified and have a proven track record of successfully managing all aspects of golf operations and be able to do so in a manner consistent with the expectations of the Club, its members and guests. MiClub booking system experience, intermediate MS office applications and financial reporting skills are highly desirable.
Remuneration
As one of the leading facilities in the region, an attractive salary is on offer and is negotiable commensurate with experience. There is no requirement on the Director of Golf to conduct coaching however opportunities to do so will be discussed with the successful applicant should it be desired.
