The Role

The National Golf Club (The National) on the Mornington Peninsula is seeking a full-time Finance and Administration Manager, to join our team located at Cape Schanck.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the primary purpose of the role is to ensure the business is appropriately administered and to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the Club on a day to day basis. This includes financial forecasting and budgets, overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting and also the maintenance of reliable and effective IT systems.

In this role you will support the Chief Executive Officer by executing tasks to fulfil The National’s visions. The Finance & Administration Manager will lead a small team of finance and administration staff, mentoring and developing their skills as required.

Your key responsibilities will see you:

  • Maintain financial records and accounts, including the implementation of effective internal controls, to meet regulatory requirements including statutory reporting
  • Responsible for all finance and information technology activity, ensuring delivery within agreed performance parameters
  • Oversee the Finance and Administration team, including the financial obligations of the membership
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external advisors, financial institutions, insurance providers and computer software vendor and support organisations
  • Oversee the HR requirements and the training programs for all staff
  • Deputise for the CEO as necessary
  • Additional projects and tasks as relevant

The right candidate:

  • Relevant tertiary and training expertise/qualifications and at least 5 years in an environment of relevant scale
  • A thorough understanding of financial principals
  • An understanding and interest in golf matters
  • Appropriate management experience
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, demonstrate attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple tasks
  • A proactive and adaptive approach to change
  • A passion for working in a collaborative and agile team environment
