The Club

Hawks Nest Golf Club is a superb 18-hole golf course located 160 km north of Sydney, Australia, and has been described by Australian golf professional Craig Parry as a hidden gem and one of the best courses in NSW.

Located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, set in a magnificent bushland setting, Hawks Nest offers a championship golf course with tree lined pristine fairways, challenging greens and bunkers.

The clubhouse has recently been fully renovated, with new carpet, furniture and painted throughout. Services include TAB, Keno, 40 EGMs, Restaurant and Cafe.

The Team

A knowledgeable and capable pro shop exists with an enthusiastic team providing on-course instruction and support. The green staff team of nine, led by a highly professional and experienced superintendent, delivers consistently high-quality playing surfaces and course improvements in line with the Craig Parry Masterplan and maintenance programme.

After five years at the helm, our General Manager is retiring in October. We are sorry to see him go but this leaves an exciting opportunity for an experienced, professional General Manager.

The Role

Reporting to the Board, the General Manager will ensure a strong business management approach to the conduct of the Club’s affairs, excellent governance, the highest level of professionalism with a focus on providing quality products and services for our 800 golfing members, 3000 social members, visitors and managing contractors and suppliers.

Financial management requirements include setting and achievement of KPIs for business and staff, budgeting, achieving budget, cost control, revenue and profit generation.

Demonstrated leadership qualities to assume full responsibility of club management through leading the various teams, staff recruitment and retention, and providing ongoing mentorship and guidance.

A minimum of five years’ experience working as a General Manager/Club Manager or in a senior management role in a Licensed Club environment is a requirement.

Tertiary qualifications in Business or Marketing (or equivalent) are desirable.

A competitive salary package is negotiable and assistance with relocation will be provided if necessary.
