Titirangi Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Course Superintendent to join our turf management team, based at Maungakiekie Golf Course.
Titirangi Golf Club and Maungakiekie Golf Club work closely together through the Heritage Project, with Titirangi responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Maungakiekie course.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive turf management operation and play an important role in the continued improvement of the Maungakiekie course. The successful applicant will work closely with the Course Superintendent, assisting with the day-to-day management of the course, staff and maintenance programme, as well as a range of ongoing course development projects.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is looking to further develop their turf management and leadership skills within a professional golf course environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Course Superintendent with the efficient day-to-day operation of the Maungakiekie golf course maintenance programme.
- Undertake a range of course maintenance activities including mowing, irrigation, bunker maintenance, agrichemical applications and course renovations.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of ongoing course development projects.
- Assist with the coordination and supervision of staff and daily work programmes.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, operating procedures and relevant industry standards.
- Assist with other duties as required to support the efficient operation of the course.
About You
We are looking for someone who is motivated, reliable and takes pride in delivering high standards of golf course presentation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Level 4 Sports Turf Management qualification, or equivalent.
- Current Growsafe certification.
- Experience operating small machinery and turf maintenance equipment.
- A sound understanding of turf management and golf course maintenance practices.
- The physical fitness required to undertake manual turf maintenance activities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A strong work ethic and a reliable and positive attitude.
- A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- A willingness to continue developing technical and leadership skills.
