Tanunda Pines Golf Club is seeking an accomplished and commercially focused Assistant General Manager – Operations & Business Development to join its leadership team.
Situated in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Tanunda Pines Golf Club is a privately owned championship golf course renowned for its outstanding golfing experience, welcoming club environment and commitment to continuous improvement. As the Club continues to expand its golf, hospitality, tourism and corporate event offerings, this newly created leadership position presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the Club.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Deputy General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation, ensuring the efficient delivery of day-to-day operations while supporting long-term business growth.
The Opportunity
This is a diverse senior leadership position suited to an experienced manager who is equally comfortable leading people, driving commercial outcomes and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Working closely with the General Manager, the successful applicant will assist in delivering excellence across all areas of the business, including:
· Club operations
· Golf operations
· Membership services
· Corporate events
· Sponsorship and business development
· Hospitality liaison
· Financial performance
· Staff leadership and organisational development
The Deputy General Manager will also act on behalf of the General Manager when required and contribute to the successful delivery of strategic projects and organisational objectives.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will be an experienced and confident leader with a proven ability to manage diverse operations while building strong relationships with members, guests, staff, sponsors and business partners.
The successful applicant will possess:
· Demonstrated senior management experience within golf, hospitality, tourism, leisure, sport or a comparable customer-focused industry.
· Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
· Strong commercial acumen and financial management capability.
· Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Highly developed organisational, planning and problem-solving abilities.
· A commitment to delivering exceptional customer and member experiences.
· Experience managing operational priorities while maintaining high service standards.
· Sound computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and business management systems.
· Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays when operationally required.
The following experience will be highly regarded:
· Golf club or member-based organisation management.
· Corporate event management.
· Sponsorship, partnerships or business development.
· Hospitality or tourism management.
· Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Hospitality, Sport Management or a related discipline.
