Position Title: Assistant Professional

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Head of Golf / Golf Operations Coordinator / Retail Manager

Lake Karrinyup Country Club are seeking the skillset of a Full Vocational Member of the PGA of Australia to support our existing team to service the needs of our 2200 members and their guests. The position combines hands-on, front-of-house operational support with administrative, retail, and event coordination responsibilities to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for all golfers attending our wonderful facility.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to coach outside of their rostered hours of work, increasing their earning capacity and continue to positively contribute to the game of golf.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional, member-focused service, including greeting guests, managing golf bookings, liaising with reciprocal members, and maintaining a visible presence across golf facilities
  • Support daily golf operations, including tee sheet management, player check-in, competition administration, and coordination of play
  • Collaborating with the Retail Manager to ensure that Golfshop is stocked with tasteful and appropriate inventory that will be appreciated by the members, guests and visitors attending Lake Karrinyup Country Club.
  • Maintain presentation standards across all golf areas, including the golf shop and liaising with the Buggy Room Supervisor to ensure that the Club’s cart fleet and practice facilities are always reflective of Lake Karrinyup’s standards
  • Assist with retail operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and supplier coordination
  • Operate and maintain golf systems (e.g. MiClub, Northstar) and support administrative processes, reporting, and financial coordination via our point-of-sale software.
  • Assist the Head of Golf and the Golf Operations Coordinator in the delivery of competitions, tournaments, and member fixtured events, including setup, scoring, and on-course support (pace of play monitoring).
  • Contribute to operational improvements, future initiatives, and overall service enhancements
  • Support team coordination, mentoring junior staff and contribution positively to positive workplace culture
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety policies, promoting a safe workplace via the club’s WHS platform
  • Maintain accurate records of retail operations, including sales, stock movements, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to club policies, procedures, and industry regulations.

 Skills & Experience

  • Full vocational member of the PGA of Australia
  • Understanding of golf operations and etiquette expected of golfers attending Lake Karrinyup Country Club.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Experience with golf management systems and retail operations
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and work both independently and within a team

 Working Conditions

  • Full-time role requiring flexibility, including weekends, public holidays, and early mornings. Predominantly a Sunday to Thursday roster.

Remuneration

  • $75,000 plus superannuation.
