Are you ready to lead a major course transformation in one of Brisbane’s leading Top 10 golf courses. Are you a highly performing, experienced, driven and hands-on Golf Course Manager ready to build and lead our agronomy team as part of the Troon philosophy on premium experiences. The club has started the Richard Chamberlain Golf Course Design (RCGD) with a 19th hole added, and 18 greens to change to Tif Eagle, as well as course changes to enhance, improve and add to the current design.

Why this Role is Unique

You will lead a major course development and build a team to complete a staged program with full capital funding over the next 5-10 years starting with the new $2 Million Greenkeepers Maintenance Shed, Premium TORO equipment and a board focus on members having a leading top tier golf course.

Troon Agronomy

Has been part of the last 2-years growth at the club and assists with proven programs, guidance and training for all levels of the team backed by the Board and General Manager. You will play a central role and take full ownership of a new generation of greens and course infrastructure, to establish best-practice agronomic & maintenance standards that set the club up for decades to come, after 57 years of being a top 10 golfing choice in Brisbane. Your role will be guiding the next phases of the RCGD Masterplan, providing leadership and oversight across green rebuilds, bunker redevelopment, fairway and drainage work, vegetation programs and all associated course enhancement and changes to holes. The club has over the last 10 months just finished a full irrigation overhaul of rewiring and upgrades to the TORO system.

About Role

Reporting to the General Manager on behalf of the Board, you will lead all aspects of turf management, staff leadership, maintenance programing and masterplan implementation.

About You

While strong agronomic knowledge and leadership skills are essential, the ideal candidate will also be within a 40-minute local drive of the course, and bring demonstrated experience in golf course construction, project management, or major course renovation programs. Familiarity with green builds, modern drainage solutions, bunker construction, irrigation maintenance and future upgrades and multi-staged projects will be highly regarded. This role suits someone who enjoys and insists on being hands-on during the construction phases.
