About Us

Eastwood Golf and Bowls Club is a thriving sporting and hospitality venue set across 48 hectares of picturesque clay-belt terrain. Established in 1955, our proud not-for-profit organisation features an outstanding 18-hole golf course, lawn bowls, and a modern clubhouse incorporating a members’ lounge, bistro, bar, gaming facilities, and function spaces. How many members?

Following a successful period of growth under our departing General Manager, we are seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly visible leader to build on this momentum and help shape the Club’s future.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Board, you will be a hands-on manager with strong leadership, communication, and people skills. You will be responsible for delivering operational excellence, driving strategic objectives, fostering a positive culture, and ensuring the continued success of the Club’s sporting and hospitality operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Provide oversight of all Club operations, including hospitality, gaming, golf course, and bowls lawn maintenance.
  • Culture & Experience: Lead and develop a positive, high-performance culture that delivers exceptional experiences for members and guests.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic planning to enhance commercial performance.
  • Board & Strategy Support: Advise and support the Board in delivering the Club’s strategic objectives and driving operational efficiency.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict compliance with all legislative, licensing, and governance requirements.
  • Community Engagement: Act as the public face of the Club, maintaining strong relationships with members, staff, and local community groups.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in club and hospitality operations management.
  • Strong financial acumen, budgeting, and reporting capabilities (including knowledge of current accounting practices).
  • Demonstrated experience leading successful teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Sound knowledge of gaming operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning, business development, and project delivery.
  • Proficiency with industry software including MiClub, Xero, MiMembership, and Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of golf or sporting club operations will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

  • Current RSA and RSG qualifications.
  • Gaming Industry Employee and/or Venue Operator Nominee Licence.
  • Experience with AML/CTF compliance programs.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a Board of Directors.
  • Valid right to work in Australia.

Preferred Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business (or similar)
  • Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management (PGA Institute)
  • Diploma of Golf Management (PGA Institute)
