Our outstanding 18-hole championship course is renowned for having some of the finest greens in the State and welcomes major open events including the Men’s and Women’s Amateur Open held annually.

With a consistent playing membership base and continued membership growth, Pinjarra Golf Club is entering an exciting period of transformation. The Club is heavily focused on inclusivity, accessibility and its friendly, welcoming environment.

The Club has recently adopted an extensive Master Plan that will reshape the future of golf and recreation in the region. Significant projects include:

·         A new state-of-the-art golf simulator facility currently under construction.

·         New golf practice facilities to be developed.

·         A proposed mini golf precinct currently under            negotiation.

·         Long-term plans for golf course improvements and a     new clubhouse.

The Opportunity

Pinjarra Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and commercially minded Golf Operations Manager to lead our Golf Operations team.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this leadership position is responsible for delivering exceptional golf experiences for members and guests while driving retail performance, golf participation, operational excellence and team productivity.

We are looking for someone who leads by example, enjoys being hands-on, and has the ability to build and manage a high-performing team focused on delivering outstanding customer service.

This role will oversee all golf operations including:

·         Pro Shop operations and retail performance.

·         Golf competitions and event management.

·         Motorised cart fleet and practice facilities.

·         Golf simulator operations and programming.

·         Future golf development initiatives including new practice facilities and the proposed mini golf precinct.

·         Golf operations staff, volunteers and daily workflows.

The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping the future direction of golf at Pinjarra Golf Club.

About You

You are an energetic leader who enjoys developing people, improving systems and creating memorable golfing experiences.

You will possess excellent communication skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

While PGA Membership or PGA qualifications would be highly regarded, they are not essential. Applicants with extensive golf or sport operations, golf retail or golf management experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Criteria

·         Minimum five years’ experience within sports operations, golf retail or sports facility management.

·         Demonstrated experience leading and developing productive teams.

·         Strong customer service and relationship management skills.

·         Sound commercial and financial acumen.

·         Experience managing retail operations including merchandising and stock control.

·         Excellent organisational and time management skills.

·         Strong understanding of golf operations, competitions and customer expectations.

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office and golf management software (MiClub, SwiftPOS or similar).

·         Current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (or willingness to obtain).

·         Approved Manager certification (desirable).

·         Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Highly Desirable

·         PGA Membership or PGA qualifications.

·         Experience delivering golf coaching or club fitting services.

·         Experience conducting club repairs and fittings.

·         Experience with social media and golf marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Leadership
·         Lead, mentor and develop a productive, customer-focused Golf Operations team.

·         Foster a positive culture built around accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

·         Manage staff rostering and daily operational priorities.

Golf Operations
·         Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Pro Shop.

·         Deliver exceptional customer experiences for members and visitors.

·         Manage tee sheets, competitions, visitor bookings and corporate golf events.

·         Ensure competitions are professionally administered in accordance with Golf Australia requirements.

·         Work collaboratively with Match Committee and Club Management.

Business Development
·         Drive profitable retail operations through effective merchandising and stock management.

·         Identify opportunities to increase participation, revenue and member engagement.

·         Assist with membership growth initiatives and promotional campaigns.

·         Support the planning and delivery of golf clinics, beginner programs, junior development and women’s golf initiatives.

Facility Management
·         Manage the Club’s motorised golf cart fleet.

·         Oversee the operation and programming of the Club’s new golf simulator facility.

·         Coordinate and maximise utilisation of the Club’s new practice facilities.

·         Assist with planning and implementation of future golf development projects including the proposed mini golf facility.

Compliance
·         Ensure Golf Operations comply with Club policies, Golf Australia requirements and Workplace Health & Safety legislation.

·         Maintain high presentation standards throughout all golf facilities.
