HOURS Minimum 20 hours per week (including some weekends)

ABOUT US 

The Feilding Golf Club is a mature country course located in the heart of the Manawatu region. With a fast growing membership base, this is a fantastic opportunity for the right applicant to join a progressive and dynamic team looking to make our club the go-to course in the region.

We’re looking for a dedicated Golf Shop Sales Assistant who has a deep understanding of the game and experience in sales to help our members and customers find the perfect gear. Working with golf, retail and event teams on the delivery of exceptional experiences for members, visitors and guests, this is a sales, service and delivery role that requires a demonstrable commitment and passion for golf.

The role operates on a shift-based system including rotational weekend work in line with the seasonal needs of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist members and customers with product selection, offering expert advice on all things golf.
• Assist with the day-to-day Golf Shop, bookings and retail functions including stock management, displays and selling.
• Process sales transactions and manage the cash register efficiently.
• Support the delivery of all golf operations and functions including events, group bookings and club activities to ensure that exceptional services are delivered at all times.
• Promote and upsell packages, events, memberships and site-wide facilities and services.
• Assist with the organisation and management of events and tournaments.
• Support membership retention and growth through proactive communications and activities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest golf trends and products.
• Any other duties required by management to ensure the smooth operation of the business and delivery of exceptional services.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

• High Golf IQ: a solid understanding of the game, equipment and current trends in golf.
• Sales Experience: previous experience in retail or sales, preferably using Lightspeed POS.
• Computer literate with confidence and competence using Google software..
• Excellent communicator with a passion for golf and sales.
• Commitment to high quality standards and keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding customer-facing environment.
• Team player with an ability to multi-task and also work independently.
• Positive and flexible approach to work.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends (on a rotational roster).
• A positive attitude and a passion for helping customers.
