Royal Fremantle Golf Club (RFGC), located just 25 minutes from the Perth CBD and 5 minutes from Fremantle, is one of Western Australia’s premier sporting clubs. Boasting a championship golf course and outstanding Member facilities, the Club is one of the oldest golf Clubs in WA, formed some 120 years ago.  Since its formation the Club and has hosted numerous State and National Amateur golf events, and recently for the second year in a row the WEBEX Players Series Perth, which we will continue to host for a further year.

RFGC seeks to appoint an experienced and motivated person to join the team as a Assistant Golf Manager. Working predominantly in the Golf Administration, the Golf Operations Supervisor, will oversee and support the delivery of competitions, tee sheet management, retail operations and team supervision to ensure a seamless and professional experience for Members and guests. The role will see the successful candidate oversee daily operations of the shop , boasting over 1400 Members, with competitions running 6 days of the week, we are a busy Club!

Reporting to the Golf Manager, this person will support the Golf Manager in all aspects of the delivery of golf services to Members, visitors and guests.  This role will be ideally suited to someone who wishes to progress a career in the golf industry, in a rewarding and welcoming Club environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • –          Assist in co-ordinating and administering all club and external competitions, ensuring accurate setup and timely processing of results.
  • –          Provide guidance on the Rules of Golf and the Clubs By Laws; educate staff; promote and provide to Members where required.
  • –          Provides leadership and direction for all golf shop staff ensuring exceptional service standards. Assisting with support in supervision, training and rostering of Golf Operations staff.
  • –          Implement operational procedures as prepared by senior management, aligning to the clubs’ rules and objectives
  • –          Assist in managing tee sheets and booking systems to optimise course flow and Member experience.
  • –          Assisting in the coordination of and delivery of major events and visiting corporate days as directed by senior management
  • –          Assist in the management of golf retail operations including sales, merchandising and stock control.

 

In order to fulfill the essential duties of the role the key competencies applicants will possess are:

  • –          Previous experience working within a Golf facility
  • –          Competent and experienced in utilisation of MiClub software, including tee sheet and competition management.
  • –          Knowledge of the etiquette and rules of golf.
  • –          Excellent organisational skills with ability to self-manage tasks, with assistance when required.
  • –          Strong attention to detail with an improvement mindset
  • –          Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • –          Availability to work a 38 hour week, with at least one weekend day a week.

In addition to the key competencies listed above, applicants who possess the following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:

  • –          Experience with NorthStar software
  • –          Previous experience in a supervisor level position
