An exciting opportunity to join a leading Sydney golf club

A unique opportunity is available for an experienced golf professional to join one of Sydney’s leading golf facilities as Golf Operations Manager.

Working closely with the General Manager and senior management team, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the Club’s golf operations, with a strong focus on member experience, team leadership and the continued development of golf services.

This is a hands-on management position suited to an experienced golf professional who enjoys working with members, leading a team and delivering a first-class golf experience.

The Role

As Golf Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the Club’s golf operations, including the golf shop, competitions, events, golf services and retail activities.

Key responsibilities include:

– Lead the daily operation of Golf Services and ensure a consistently high level of service.
– Work with the General Manager to develop and maintain effective operational policies and procedures.
– Manage the golf shop, including product selection, merchandising, stock control and retail operations.
– Develop initiatives to support retail sales and service standards.
– Coordinate member competitions, Club events, corporate golf and other golf activities.
– Ensure fields are started efficiently and pace of play is effectively monitored and managed.
– Oversee golf carts, bag storage, club cleaning and repair services, and practice facilities.
– Monitor departmental performance and provide regular reporting.
– Ensure all departmental activities comply with Club WHS requirements and procedures.
– Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of golf activities.
– Continuously review Golf Operations and identify opportunities to enhance the member and guest experience.
– Lead, develop and motivate staff while maintaining a positive and professional team culture.
– Maintain high standards of customer service across all areas of Golf Operations.

About You

We are seeking a motivated golf professional who combines strong industry knowledge with excellent people and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

– Significant experience within the golf industry, with PGA of Australia membership recommended.
– Previous experience in a senior golf operations or golf professional role within a premium golf club, resort or similar environment.
– Strong knowledge and experience in golf retail.
– A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding member and guest experiences.
– Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop and manage a team.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
– Experience with MiClub and SwiftPOS/Back Office systems.
– A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
– The ability to work effectively with senior management and colleagues across the Club.
– A professional, positive and collaborative approach to leadership.
