This is a rare opportunity to lead the golf operation of one of Australia’s premier private golf clubs.
Indooroopilly Golf Club is entering one of the most exciting periods in its 100-year history. Having recently celebrated its Centenary, the Club has invested more than $25 million into its golf courses, clubhouse and facilities, and is now delivering a new Strategic Plan that will continue to strengthen our position as the leader in our market.
With more than 2,700 members, two championship 18-hole courses (36 holes), exceptional practice facilities and a thriving clubhouse, Indooroopilly is recognised as one of Australia’s leading private member golf clubs. Our vision is simple:

To help deliver that vision, we are creating a new senior leadership position.
About the opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working alongside an experienced Executive Leadership Team, the Director of Golf will lead every aspect of the Club’s golf operation.
This is far more than a traditional Golf Operations Manager role.
You will be responsible for leading the Club’s golf business including:
- Golf Operations
- Member golf experience
- Competitions and Rules of Golf
- Golf retail
- Visitor and corporate golf
- Golf Academy
- Teaching professionals
- PGA Associates
- Practice facilities
- Department strategy, budgets and commercial performance
- Leadership and development of a high-performing golf operations team.
You will play a key role in delivering the Club’s Strategic Plan, helping drive continual improvement in the golf experience, supporting future golf course enhancements, expanding academy participation, growing commercial opportunities and developing the next generation of PGA Professionals.
About you
We’re looking for an experienced golf industry leader who combines outstanding member service with strong commercial and leadership capability.
You will ideally bring:
- PGA Professional (Full Vocational Member)
- Demonstrated success leading golf operations within a private golf club or premium golf facility
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Experience managing golf retail, competitions and member services
- A passion for coaching, mentoring and developing PGA Associates
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine desire to create exceptional member experiences.
Most importantly, you’ll be an authentic leader who enjoys being highly visible within the Club, building trusted relationships with members and staff, and continually looking for ways to improve every aspect of the golf experience.

An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant based on qualifications and experience.
This is a full-time salaried leadership position incorporating regular weekend work. Flexibility is required to meet the operational needs of the Club, including attendance at selected additional golf events and member functions.
