About the role

Club Mandalay is located just 40 minutes from the CBD and is the premier golf and residential development North of Melbourne.

Our Clubhouse plays host to our 70-seat Kelly’s Restaurant, Thomson Room Function space, outdoor dining, Café, Golf Pro Shop and extensive leisure facilities including a 25-metre lap pool, children’s water park, gymnasium and two tennis courts.

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our upbeat, youthful and proactive team in a part-time capacity (15+ hours per week).

As a Food and Beverage Supervisor you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant and café.  You will work closely with our front-of-house staff and back-of-house staff, under the direction of our Hospitality Manager, to maintain high standards of service and create a memorable experience for our members and guests.

 Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to the front-of-house team to ensure a cohesive work environment.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction by proactively resolving issues and maintaining a positive venue atmosphere.
  • Train new and existing staff members on service standards, menu knowledge, and professional customer interaction.
  • Maintain high-quality food and beverage service by monitoring all service periods for flow and quality.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, ensuring it remains guest-ready at all times.
  • Coordinate and assist with the seamless execution of special events and private functions.
  • Monitor stock orders and inventory levels to ensure the bar and floor are fully prepared for high-volume periods.
  • Lead the running of service periods, making real-time adjustments to staffing and floor plans as needed.
  • Execute all opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, and setting up the floor for the following day’s trade.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail knowledge.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Flexible schedule, requiring evenings, weekends, and holidays.
