• Membership: 2,000 total (900 playing, 1,100 social)
• Golf Facilities: 18-Hole Championship Course, Practice Range, Practice Putting and Chipping area
• Course Maintenance: Contracted
• Pro Shop: Club owned and managed
• Gaming: 45 gaming machines
• Hospitality: Large bistro dining area, sports bar, outside veranda and pavilion, playground area and semi-private function spaces

The Role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will drive operational excellence, strategic growth, and a positive culture. You will oversee sporting, gaming, hospitality, and asset maintenance operations, while partnering with the Board to finalise and execute the new Strategic and Master Plan’s. There is a very strong management team already in place, covering aspects like Club/Golf Functions and Events, Sponsorship, Marketing, Accounts/Payroll and Operations/Duty Managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Provide day-to-day oversight of all club operations, including bar, restaurant, gaming, pro shop and course/grounds maintenance.
• Financial & Strategic Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while implementing the Board’s strategic objectives to enhance commercial performance.
• Gaming Operations: Ability to analyse gaming performance and drive revenue growth.
• People & Culture: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team; manage staff rostering, recruitment, and workplace relations.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to legislative, licensing, corporate governance, AML/CTF, AUSTRAC and WHS requirements.
• Community Engagement: Act as the public face of the Club, maintaining strong relationships with members, guests, community groups, government representatives, and the Board.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

• Proven Leadership: Extensive management experience within club, hospitality, or sporting operations.
• Financial Acumen: Strong capability in budgeting, accounting practices, financial reporting, and interpreting commercial results.
• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven history of working collaboratively with a Board of Directors, staff, and club members.
• Operational Knowledge: Sound background in gaming operations, compliance, and food/beverage management.
• Tech Proficiency: Experience utilising industry software such as MiClub, MiMembership, Xero, SwiftPos and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of golf or sporting club operations.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

• Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and RSG (Responsible Service of Gambling) qualifications.
• Current NT Machine Mangers Licence (or ability to obtain one locally).
• Valid right to work in Australia.
