Position Overview

The Golf Manager will assist the Golf and Clubhouse Manager in the day-to-day operations and management of The Pines and The Palms golf courses as required. This includes providing support to increase the department’s overall profit and success. Of priority are the delivery of prompt, friendly and efficient service to all Members, guests and visitors, in a manner consistent with established outlet operations, policies and procedures. The role includes assisting with members competition calendar and schedule, as well as tee sheet and cart fleet management. The Golf Manager will assist in managing and guiding the Golf Services team to ensure tasks are completed promptly and to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities – include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the management and performance of all golf shop and department operations and services; maintain high standards and total Member/guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of annual business planning  of the golf department
  • Continue to drive a profitable retail facility that is consistent with Members/guest demographics and needs.
  • Assist with all fiscal areas including monthly stock take. Assist the Golf and Clubhouse Manager with performance of the golf operations including planning, and forecasting.
  • Oversee and enforce golf shop operations policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory, and resources.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

  • Maintain PGA of Australia membership in good standing in an active classification
  • Fundamental supervisory practices and principles of golf shop operations
  • Several years’ experience in related golf industry frontline services and/or supervisory roles
  • Demonstrated understanding of running golf competitions, rules, and handicapping
  • Computer literacy, professional email correspondence, on-line booking systems experience
  • Ability to work in all areas of golf operations and demonstrate conduct consistent with that of a supervisor
  • A positive, helpful, service-oriented attitude combined with outstanding communication skills
  • The ability to work well both autonomously and in a team, and respond quickly to busy periods
  • Availability to work across a seven-day rotating roster with shifts between 5am and 8pm
  • Current, driver’s license recognised in an Australian State.

Remuneration

  • The successful candidate will receive a packaged salary.
  • Your ordinary hours of work will be 38 hours per week, plus any reasonable additional hours that are necessary to fulfil your duties or as otherwise required by the employer.
