About the Role

The Payroll & Systems Coordinator is responsible for managing payroll, maintaining our HR systems, and supporting reporting across the business.

You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll, including leave, terminations, and reporting, while ensuring everything is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. You will also respond to payroll queries, support others using the system, and complete regular reconciliations and year-end processes.

You will maintain employee records across payroll and HR systems, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and support ongoing improvements to ensure systems run effectively. A key part of the role is helping managers and employees feel confident using these systems in their day-to-day work.

You will keep employee data accurate and up to date, prepare regular reports, and provide insights to support better decision making through clear and reliable information. In addition, you will assist with People & Culture administration across the employee lifecycle, support audits, compliance, and visa tracking, and contribute to team initiatives and continuous improvement.

About You

  • At least two years’ experience in payroll
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality output
  • Clear communicator who works well with others
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confident using Microsoft Word and Excel

Location: Arrowtown, Queenstown (onsite)

Hours: This is a fixed-term role covering parental leave, of an indicative period of 12 months. The role currently offers a minimum of 25 hours per week, with the flexibility to increase to full-time hours for the duration of the contract.
