KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service

  • Greet guests in a warm, welcoming manner.
  • Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service throughout the guest experience.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests.

Order Taking & Service

  • Accurately take food and beverage orders using POS systems or manually, as required.
  • Deliver meals, snacks, and drinks to tables, lounges, or event areas in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain product knowledge to provide recommendations and upsell where appropriate.
  • Prepare and serve beverages including coffee, cocktails, alcoholic drinks, and non-alcoholic options.

Cleanliness & Presentation

  • Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service counters, and food preparation zones.
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently between guests or rounds of service.
  • Ensure all equipment, crockery, cutlery, and glassware are clean and properly stored.

Event & Function Support

  • Set up, service, and pack down for weddings, corporate functions, and club events from 40-160 pax.
  • Follow specific service standards (e.g., plated, buffet, cocktail-style events).

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety guidelines.
  • Comply with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) legislation.
  • Report incidents or hazards to supervisors immediately.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams.
  • Attend pre-shift briefings and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth service.

Stock & Inventory

  • Assist in restocking fridges, bars, and storerooms.
  • Monitor and report low stock or damaged items.

Venue Standards & Presentation

  • Ensure all areas reflect the quality, service, and image standards of the venue or club.
  • Take pride in personal grooming and uniform presentation.

Pinjarra Golf Club is an outstanding 18-hole golf course located in the rapidly growing Peel region of Western Australia, just southeast of Mandurah and has a very exciting future ahead. The course is highly regarded, with the greens consistently considered amongst the best in the State. The Club has approximately 460 members in playing membership categories and a very strong green fee support base, receiving over 15,000 green players per year. The Board has set an objective and implemented many innovative membership packages to increase membership and to develop its facilities and operations to support growth and membership loyalty.

The Future

The Club is focused on the future and has engaged Ben Davey from Contour Golf Design to produce a golf course masterplan, that will include improvements to our existing layout, a new clubhouse, mini-golf and a limited-flight driving range that will attract the next generations of golfers to our facility. Reporting to the Board, Pinjarra Golf Club are seeking an experienced, senior level professional to facilitate the role of General Manager responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Club.

About the role

To be considered as a potentially successful candidate for this position, the Club are seeking a natural leader, with a keen eye for detail, effective time management skills, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. The applicant must be passionate about creating and fostering a healthy workplace culture and be capable of working with a variety of different stakeholders, including but not limited to the Club’s Board, members, staff, sponsors, guests, visitors, and Local Government officers. Key responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate would ideally have:

  1. Experience as a senior-level manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a golf club, and a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with the Board, members, and Department Heads.
  2. Proven record of having delivered positive business growth at a golf club (or similar-sized club).
  3. Proven ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, including members, staff and the wider community.
  4. Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets, cost control, achievement of targets and deliver outcomes to plan.
  5. Preparation of Board packs and financial reporting is essential.
  6. Ability to support and guide the Board through compliance, quality and regulatory issues, including overseeing adherence to the Club Constitution.
  7. Exposure to a variety of marketing activities, including but not limited to website, social media platforms and strong member and visitor communication strategies.
  8. Experience in overseeing the delivery of major programs e.g. capital works projects.
  9. Familiarity with MYOB, MiClu,b and SwiftPOS.
  10. Strong networks in the golf industry, GMWA or similar.
  11. Proven record of positive community engagement, including contracting of club sponsorships and corporations.
  12. WA Approved Managers Certificate.

Benefits

Pinjarra Golf Club offers a positive working environment with respect to working hours, however, given the seven-day a week nature of the industry, weekend and evening hours will be required. The position offers a base remuneration of $110,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Churchill-Waverley Golf and Bowls Club (CWGBC) provides 36 holes of golf.  Currently operating on two sites at Rowville and Endeavour Hills, the club provides 7- Day member and public access with an indoor Trackman simulator at the Endeavour Hills site.

RFGC seeks to appoint an experienced and motivated person to join the team as a Assistant Golf Manager. Working predominantly in the Golf Administration, the Golf Operations Supervisor, will oversee and support the delivery of competitions, tee sheet management, retail operations and team supervision to ensure a seamless and professional experience for Members and guests. Key responsibilities include:

  • Washing dishes and utensils, either by hand or using an industrial dishwasher
  • Cleaning and restocking food preparation areas, equipment, appliances, and storage
  • Retrieving, lifting, handling, and storing food deliveries
  • Retrieving food items as requested by chefs or cooks

About You

The successful candidate will have the following skills and background:

  • Experience in high volume kitchens
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Working rights in Australia

The successful applicant will have excellent organisational skills, display initiative, and act with professionalism at all times.
