About

St Michael’s Golf Club is seeking to appoint a full or part-time PGA Golf Professional to provide service to our approximately 1,000 Members and the many thousands of visitors who play the course each year (over 60,000 rounds per annum; approximately 40% visitor play).

St Michael’s Golf Club is located in Little Bay, approximately 20 minutes (14km) from Sydney CBD, within the Botany Bay National Parkland and adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, with convenient access to Sydney Airport and major town facilities.

The weather in Sydney is warm and generally humid during November–March, with mild conditions from May–August (supporting year-round golf and coaching).

The Club operates 7 days per week with the busiest days typically Friday to Sunday due to member competitions and strong visitor demand.

The Club possesses an 18-hole championship course and a public driving range (Cullen’s Driving Range) with dedicated short game and putting facilities.

The role

The successful applicant for this position must be a PGA Member (or PGA Associate working towards Membership), ideally with a Certified status under the PGA’s ACE Program and preferably Advanced in a relevant ACE stream (Small Business, Coaching, Game Development, Management) as an indicator of engagement in ongoing training and development. The applicant must be customer-focused in addition to being well presented, honest and reliable, organised, self-motivated with a good work ethic, and have a willingness to learn and display strong communication skills.

The position is offered as a permanent employee in the role of the Golf Shop Assistant / Teaching Professional, with the following operations forming part of the responsibilities of the successful applicant:

  • Golf shop and guest services: bookings, check-in, customer service, retail sales, merchandising and stock presentation.
  • Provide tuition for club members, visitors, representative squads and juniors (private lessons, clinics and group programs).
  • Support and grow coaching opportunities linked to our high-traffic public driving range (including lessons outside rostered shop hours by agreement).
  • Assist with corporate golf and club events, including on-course support and presentations where appropriate.
  • Contribute to junior development and community programs and assist with communications where required.

Minimum available hours

  • 3 to 5 days a week, rostered between 6:30am to 6:00pm (including weekends on rotation).
  • Coaching times are flexible and may be conducted outside rostered shop hours by arrangement.

Position Remuneration/Entitlements:

The role is for an employed full- or part-time position with St Michael’s Golf Club, with the opportunity, pending your service ability in the golf shop, to also build a strong coaching business.

  • Competitive hourly rate for rostered Golf Shop shifts (including weekend and public holiday penalties in line with the applicable award), plus superannuation.
  • Ability to teach and retain an agreed share of coaching revenue (including individual lessons, clinics and programs).
  • Additional revenue opportunities, including group clinics, junior and beginner programs, corporate clinics, custom fitting, demo days and range-based programs.

Receptionist – Royal Sydney Golf Club

The role:

Reporting in to the Clubhouse Operations Manager you will be the hub of information for the Club and be responsible for creating a seamless member experience at the front desk and delivering exceptional service levels.

This is a part-time role offering 20-25 hours a week, requiring flexible availability to work during the week, on weekends and public holidays (rotating roster) with shifts ranging from 5.30am starts to 9.30pm finishes. 

Key tasks include:

  • Deliver the highest standard of service to members and their guests.
  • Ensure the Club’s rules and regulations are adhered to including enforcing the dress regulations.
  • Assist members and guests with all enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Organise bookings for accommodation and confirm accommodation request prior to check in.
  • Perform check ins and check outs for members staying in accommodation.
  • Organise bookings for Dining Room/Club Bar
  • Remain up to date at all times with the day’s meetings, fixtures and upcoming events in the Green Book.
  • Order taxis/ubers for members and guests as required.
  • Assist members and guests with purchases in the Cellar Door, and other Reception based retail initiatives.

What does the Club need from me?

  • Minimum 1-year experience in either a Reception or admin related role.
  • Demonstrate a passion for customer service.
  • Strong organisational skills and able to remain composed under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have intermediate computer skills including word, excel and outlook programs.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
  • Valid NSW RSA.

Housekeeping Attendant – Royal Sydney Golf Club

The Role:
Reporting to the Clubhouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking all public area, housekeeping, event set up and pack down and stores duties in an efficient and professional manner.

This is a part-time role offering 30-35 hours per week, requiring availability to work shifts during the week and on weekends for a mixture of open/close shifts ranging between 6am starts to 10:30pm finishes.

Key tasks include:
Housekeeping
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene across guest rooms and public areas.
  • Clean public areas including the lobby, lifts, stairways, and toilets.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support the events team with setup, bump-in/bump-out, and pack-down of functions.

Stores

  • Ensure timely ordering and proper storage of stock in designated areas.
  • Keep stock and storage areas secure; report discrepancies to the Clubhouse Operations Manager.
  • Rotate perishable stock to prevent waste.
  • Distribute stock as per requisitions or approved orders.
  • Ensure safe delivery of stock; report any damage or losses to the Clubhouse Operations Manager.
  • Assist in managing the garbage room and maintain the loading dock per Club protocols.

What does the Club need from me?

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping, cleaning or other similar role gained within a quality hotel environment is essential.
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with use of chemical and commercial cleaning equipment.

About the role

The Victoria Golf Club is seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. As Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in the smooth running of our renowned Club. This is a full-time position based in our clubhouse in Cheltenham, Melbourne.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen, including overseeing staff, menu planning, and inventory control
