The Role

We are seeking the services of a 1st year Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our busy team at Sandhurst Golf Club. Sandhurst is a 36 hole golf complex located 35-minutes South East of Melbourne CBD. The courses currently host several PGA events annually, which will enable the successful applicant to gain some experience in tournament preparations.

This is a full-time waged position with weekend work on a rotating roster whilst working in a great team environment.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Green Keeper to assist with the daily maintenance of its 18 hole Golf Course in a full time role.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

·        Minimum certificate III Sports Turf Management. Advanced qualifications are highly desirable.

·        Have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a team environment whilst also having the ability to work independently as required.

·        Be able to problem solve with a ’can do’ attitude to ensure course maintenance can be completed in a timely and efficient manner.

·        Must have a valid driver’s licence with own transport.

Nikanti Golf Club, is a new, exciting development with a unique concept that puts a large focus on service and a quality product. The club is now looking for a suitably qualified expatriate for the role of golf course superintendent. The course superintendent will work alongside the agronomic consultant to elevate the golf course and develop the capabilities of the current GCM team.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and experienced in turf agronomy. Primary duties include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the maintenance and turf quality of all areas of the golf course and landscape and recommends any necessary changes/improvements to the golf course to achieve the clubs vision of excellence.

• Supervises the application of chemical, pesticide and fertiliser applications as required including the recording of such applications.

• Develops annual operating budgets for maintenance and improvement projects.

• Excellent time management skills. Maintenance practices are to be scheduled around guest play to maximise efficiency.

• Provides operational and safety training for employees to ensure that staff are operating within health and safety guidelines and relevant legislation.

• Responsible for keeping accurate records on weather data, maintenance procedures, personnel training, course performance, machinery and equipment.

The ideal applicant will be an experienced Assistant Superintendent at a prominent club looking to advance their career. They will also be an excellent communicator, be able to lead a large team consisting of multiple departments and will possess a strong attention to detail.

You must be able to manage your team’s time efficiency, ensuring all works are completed on time, possess a strong knowledge of written and spoken English language and also a strong willingness to learn the native Thai language.

Experience overseeing landscape maintenance as well as tree care and maintenance is essential.

The club has several projects currently underway and construction experience will be looked upon favourably.
