The Role

The National Golf Club is seeking to engage a Permanent Outside Services Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team.

Reporting to the Golf Operations Manager and relevant supervisors, you will work collaboratively with a highly motivated team to contribute positively to the Club’s daily operations and member experience.

Key Responsibilities     
  • Cleaning and maintaining golf carts
  • Managing members’ golf bags and buggy storage
  • Assisting with driving range operations (collecting and maintaining golf balls and baskets)
  • Supporting overall presentation and cleanliness of facilities
  • Patrolling the golf courses and driving range to ensure rules and etiquette are followed
  • Monitoring the pace of play and managing tee time flow

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, energetic and passionate qualified Greenkeeper to join the team. Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you will be involved in all aspects of turf maintenance required for the upkeep of the golf course facilities. This is a Full-Time position that requires predominantly weekday work however flexible to work shifts on weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance
  • Assist with the operations and maintenance of both golf courses, lawn, tennis courts, croquet lawns and bowling greens.
  • Assist with the maintenance, renovation and reconstruction of all turf and garden areas.
  • Apply fertilisers and pesticides as directed and complete fertiliser/pesticide application records.
  • Carry out hand held spraying and boom spraying of weeds as required.
  • Carry out landscaping duties as required.
  • Set up the golf course for daily play and tournaments/club events.
Equipment
  • Safely operate and maintain Turfcare equipment and operate other machinery or equipment requiring the holding of specialised licences upon being trained.
  • Report defects or damages to the Workshop Manager immediately to ensure machinery is fixed in a timely manner.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or equivalent
  • Previous experience operating turfcare machinery
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding requirements relating to WHS and Environmental management of sporting facilities
Desirable
  • AQF3 Chemical spray certification or equivalent
  • Manual Driver’s license
